The best rules are the broken ones.
Aloha. I'm Pua.
I'm an artist, a hula dancer, a tech nerd, and a hot sauce enthusiast. I've been designing brands and websites for founders since 2014, and my favorite part about this work is helping business owners share their stories and build beautiful legacies.
I'm a Native Hawaiian woman born and raised on Oʻahu, a CrossFit regular, a dog mom, and someone who loses sleep over bad typography. I hold my MBA from Hawaiʻi Pacific University and have spent nearly 20 years in entrepreneurship, education, and media.
I created RBL Media because I kept seeing the same thing over and over: smart, established founders with brilliant businesses that looked like they were still figuring it out online. That gap between who you actually are and how you show up digitally? That's what I fix.
The RBL Media North Star
OUR MISSION
To help rebellious business owners get visible, be memorable, and stay profitable through bold brand strategy and extraordinary digital experiences.
OUR VISION
A world where small businesses don't have to blend in to succeed. Where your brand looks, sounds, and feels like you - and that's exactly why it works.
Our values.
These aren't words on a wall. They're the decisions we make every day - in every project, every conversation, every deliverable.
Rooted
Our work is grounded in three Hawaiian concepts that go deeper than a mission statement. They're the way we see the world - and the way we approach every brand we touch.
Moʻolelo
Storytelling · Legacy · The passing down of knowledge
Every brand has a story worth telling. Not a tagline -- a moʻolelo. The real one. The one that explains why you started, what you believe, and why your clients should trust you with their next chapter. We don't build brands. We excavate stories and build around them.
Kuleana
Responsibility · Privilege · Positive impact for community
We take seriously the responsibility of telling someone else's story. Every brand we build belongs to a real person with a real community behind them. Kuleana means we don't take shortcuts, we don't phone it in, and we never forget that our work has a ripple effect far beyond the deliverable.
Kaona
Hidden meaning · What lies beneath the surface
Kaona is the art of layered meaning - the message within the message. On the surface, rebellious. Beneath it, a philosophy: that the most powerful brands aren't the loudest ones. They're the ones with something real to say, and the clarity to say it in a way that only the right people fully understand.
We lead with story.
Always.
Most agencies start with design. We start with your story - who you are, who you serve, why it matters, and what makes you the only choice for the right client.
Every website, every brand, every deliverable starts with understanding the person behind the business. That's not a process. That's a belief.
The Brand Wrap isn't just a proposal. It's a document clients keep and reference long after we're done - because it captures something most businesses never take the time to articulate.

Rule we never break
Strategy before design. Every single time, no exceptions.
Giving Back
Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. They are unconditional love in its purest form. That's why the work organizations like the Fur Angel Foundation do hits so close to home.
The Fur Angel Foundation rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes dogs across Hawaiʻi. They operate on the belief that every dog deserves a second chance. RBL Media is a proud corporate sponsor and monthly donor because this work matters, and is close to my heart.
If you're looking for a way to give back, consider donating to or fostering through Fur Angel Foundation.
Real talk, no filter.
RBL Uncut is where we pull back the curtain on what it actually takes to build a brand that works - the strategy, the stumbles, and the moments that change everything.
Conversations with founders, creatives, and leaders who've done the work. No fluff, no buzzwords, no perfectly packaged success stories.
